To provide a method for digesting lignocellulose material, capable of improving a digestion yield of the material, by using a continuous digester.
This method for continuously digesting the lignocellulose material comprises using a two-vessel digestion apparatus which has a penetration vessel and the digester equipped with at least two strainers and adding black liquor extracted from the strainers to the penetration vessel, wherein an amount of the black liquor extracted from the strainer positioned at an uppermost part of the digester is at least 35, when an amount of the black liquor added to the penetration vessel is assumed to be 100, and white liquor and polysulfide are added to the lignocellulose material at a top part of a penetration zone or an area preceding the top part, so that the polysulfide is added in an additive ratio of 0.3 to 1.5 mass% (based on a bone dry weight of the lignocellulose material).
