Abstract:
To provide a highly sensitive and reliable method that permits the discrimination of a cancer cell at the cell level.
This method for discriminating a cancer cell comprises the steps of detecting the expression level of RT subunit of telomerase (hTERT) in subject cells by the in situ hybridization(ISH) of mRNA, and comparing the expression level with that of the normal cell. The ISH permitted the discrimination and the cell level. Using hTERT as an index permitted high sensitivity and specificity.
