To provide a method for displaying a menu suitable for selecting a title, chapter, parameter or the like, included in optical storage media.
Menus usually comprise a plurality of buttons to be displayed. Each of the buttons has prescribed states such as, for example, "an unselected state", "a selected state" or "an activated state". The menus may contain buttons INV1-INV4 that can be selected through keys of a remote control, but that are not associated with any image or text. Thereby, "the invisible buttons" can be created that automatically execute commands responding to selection. Further, sound or sound sequence, for example, melody or click sound may be associated with the prescribed button states, and may be played back when the button enters in the respective states.
