Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for disposing of steel making slag with efficient workability, and economically providing slag powder with a target grain diameter.
SOLUTION: This method comprises: a first step of putting molten slag with a basicity of over 1.5 generated at a steel making process in a slag container 10 and gradually cooling it into a large slug cluster in a high temperature condition including a large amount of α'-Ca2SiO4, and further crushing the large slug cluster in the high temperature condition so as to manufacture a small slug cluster; and a second step of putting the small slug cluster into a rotary cooler 14, from one side of which cooling air is emitted, and rapidly cooling it to transform the contained α'-Ca2SiO4 into γ-Ca2SiO4 to powder the small slug cluster. First slug powder mixed in exhaust gas of the rotary cooler 14, and second slug powder obtained by classifying the powder slug discharged from the rotary cooler 14 are recovered and used as a soil conditioner, a raw material of a fertilizer, or other chemicals agents.
