Abstract:
To provide a technique for dissolving and peeling a noble metal from a treatment object with the noble metal deposited on its stainless steel body, using a treatment liquid comprising nitric acid, the technique making it possible to inhibit the corrosion of the body and suitably dissolve and peel the noble metal while reducing the amount of use of nitric acid.SOLUTION: A method for dissolving and peeling a noble metal includes the step for bringing a treatment object with the noble metal deposited on its stainless steel body into contact with a treatment liquid, thereby dissolving and peeling the noble metal. The treatment liquid is an acidic aqueous solution comprising nitric acid at a concentration of 2.5 mol/L or more and 5.0 mol/L or less, at least one hydrochloric acid source selected from the group consisting of hydrochloric acid and salts comprising chloride ions, and at least one sulfuric acid source selected from the group consisting of sulfuric acid and salts comprising sulfate ions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
