To provide a method of dividingly forming a vehicle frame member, by dividing the member, welding a devided member or a sheet member, with which the devided member is blocked, while lessening the gap and without using filler material.

A vehicle frame member such as a side frame or a cross beam is divided onto a few parts. These parts having sheared or ruptured end surfaces are prepared by blanking and press forming of metal plates. They are arranged in such a way that a ruptured end surface of a part abuts sheared surface of other part, and then laser welded. A vehicle frame member can also be formed by a method comprising the steps of; preparing metal plates S-1, S-2 and S-3 having rutured or sheared end surface, laser welding the metal plates, and blanking and press forming the welded plate.
