Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable drainage in an inflow channel, to prevent great quantities of precipitated sand from being deposited on the bottom surface, and to remove scums and dregs to be generated in a pumping field by arranging a second pump in the inflow channel, closing an inflow gate, and discharging precipitated sand in the inflow channel by the second pump.
SOLUTION: If drainage of water in an inflow channel 4 is requested in maintenance in which an inflow gate 3 is closed and the operation of first pumps P1, P2 is stopped, a second pump P3 is operated. Therefore, sewage in the inflow channel 4 is introduced to an annular passage 11 of a water sucking part 10, the sewage is previously rotated in the same direction R2 as the rotational direction R1 of an impeller of the second pump P3 in the annular passage 11, sucked from a suction port of the second pump P3, and can be drained. Precipitated sand deposited on the bottom surface of the inflow channel 4 is drained together with sewage by the second pump P3 without being precipitated, and therefore, great quantities of precipitated sand can be prevented from being deposited on the bottom surface of the inflow 4.
