Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dressing a multi-thread grinding worm, capable of improving to increase a service life of a dressing tool, as well as, reducing the number of dressing tools to be maintained for an inventory.SOLUTION: A method for dressing a multi-thread grinding worm comprises machining a thread groove of the multi-thread grinding worm using a dressing tool having a tooth width greater than a gap width between teeth of the thread groove, to retreat at least one of a plurality of thread grooves of the grinding worm, in terms of the teeth width and/or teeth height, with respect to an original flank, resulting in reduction in the number of thread grooves of the grinding worm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
