Abstract:
To provide a method for drilling holes in lenses, preventing occurrence of chips and cracks or occurrence of microdamage to a cutting surface, when the holes are drilled in the plastic lenses.
When the holes are drilled into the plastic eyeglass lenses by a drill, the holes are drilled, with water-soluble lubricant heated and melted or impregnated in the drill as an aqueous solution, or a lubricant composition arranged on the lenses. Thereby, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of the chips and cracks or the occurrence of the microdamage to the cutting surface, and prevent such problems that appearance is poor or the cracks occur with the microdamage as a base point around screw holes after frames are attached.
