PURPOSE: To prevent a mistake in tuck-in from occurring even if the pile height is small, by actuating a cutter of a tuck-in selvaging apparatus in part of a pile weave according to terry motion of a shuttleless loom.
CONSTITUTION: If a beating position is at a blind beating position when weft yarns 5 are picked and beaten, the weft yarns 5 are held by a catching cord 8 on the picking side and a catching cord 9 on the side opposite to the picking side and simultaneously cut by a normally used cutter for picking. On the other hand, if the beating position is a pile forming position set on the side opposite to the reed from the blind picking position by terry motion of a shuttleless loom, the weft yarn 5 after picking are held by both catching cords 8 and 9 and cut by the cutter 10. On the other hand, a tuck-in selvaging apparatus 11 is actuated.
