Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to suppress unevenness of horizontal luminance and to high quality display, by variably controlling non-selective reference voltage of a scanning signal electrode line or reference voltage of counter electrodes.
SOLUTION: Since a voltage change, which is generated by the falling of a selective gate voltage in the non-selective timing t1 on the scanning signal electrode line side, has an influence on the lowering of the image signal voltage of display elements, on the scanning signal electrode line side connected to switching elements, in the period after the non-selective timing t1, the reference voltage is made to very by ΔVc to the scanning signal electrode line or for the counter electrodes. Then, through an auxiliary capacity, such a variably controlled voltage is supplied that a voltage amplitude is in the direction where the variable voltage ΔVc offsets the lowered image signal voltage of the display elements on the scanning signal electrode line side connected to the switching elements. Consequently, the uneven horizontal luminance of a thin line generating in a simultaneous selective period can be improved to a nearly unnoticeable level.
