Abstract:
To provide a method which is suitable for addressing a bi-stable electro-optical display device.
A method of addressing a bi-stable electro-optical display device having at least one pixel comprises the following processes of: applying an addressing pulse to drive the pixel in a first optical state; and putting the pixel in a second optical state which is different from the first optical state by not driving the pixel in a certain time. This method is characterized such that a refresh pulse for substantially returning the pixel to the first optical state is applied to the pixel, and that the refresh pulse is shorter than the addressing pulse.
