Abstract:

To solve such a problem that, in a voltage holding period in which storage elements arranged at respective pixel electrodes of a liquid crystal display device and a data signal output circuit are electrically cut off by a switch element, when an output of the data signal output circuit is fixed to the minimum potential (L) or the maximum potential (H) and a voltage held in the storage element for image display is potential different from the output of the data signal output circuit, since a potential difference is caused between a data signal line and the storage element, and current leakage is caused in the switch element, a voltage held in the storage element is changed and image quality is deteriorated.

The deterioration of image quality is reduced by fixing the output of the data signal output circuit in the voltage holding period to the intermediate potential of the minimum potential and the maximum potential held in the storage element. Especially, a reduction effect of the deterioration of image quality can be made the maximum by fixing the output of the data signal output circuit to the half of a data signal amplitude.
