PURPOSE: To improve the rise of a stepping motor, by keeping a sufficiently large angle of lead on a rotor to excite it during the first half period of driving, and by applying great acceleration torque to the rotor.
CONSTITUTION: By a step-formed polygonal line 1, the exitation timing of a stator is shown, and by a curve 2, the moving trace of a rotor is shown. Then, by excitation to keep an angle of lead large during the first half period of driving, great acceleration torque is applied to the rotor, and the rise of a stepping motor is improved. After the stepping motor is accelerated, slow brakes are applied to the rotor by bringing an excited position closer to a final goal b step by step from the front side of the goal b, and oscillation on settling is suppressed.
