Abstract:
To provide a method for dropping intraocular pressure.
This method comprises operation for administering a medicine composition containing an effective amount of a mononucleoside polyphosphate or dinucleoside polyphosphate defined by general formula I as a purinergic receptor ligand to a target to be treated. The method is effective for treating and preventing ocular hypertension such as glaucoma (including primary glaucoma and secondary glaucoma). Intraocular pressure can be dropped using the method alone. The method can increase dropping effect on intraocular pressure by combination with another therapeutic agent or adjuvant normally used in treatment of glaucoma.
