To provide a drying means for a honeycomb molded product, which can dry the whole body at a uniform rate while hardly causing drying breakage (crack).
The honeycomb molded product obtained by kneading a raw material including a ceramic material, a dispersion medium, a molding aid and an additive agent to form a base material followed by molding is irradiated with microwave having a frequency of ≥300 MHz and ≤1,500 NMz to dry the honeycomb molded product. After the drying by irradiation with the microwave, the honeycomb molded product is further dried with hot air. The ceramic material is composed of one selected from a material group consisting of silicon carbide, silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, aluminum titanate, lithium aluminum titanate and Al4SiC4, or a mixture of two or more thereof. The raw material includes 1 pt.mass to 10 pts.mass of an organic binder as the molding aid, and 0.1 pt.mass to 10 pts.mass of a water absorptive resin as the additive, the water absorptive resin having a moisture content of ≥20 mass% and ≤60 mass%.
