Abstract:
To provide a method of drying a shipping container and/or a storage container, which is easy, practicable with little time and effort, remarkable in high drying efficiency, and particularly suitable for a container having a high thermal output,.SOLUTION: Water in a container 1 is first discharged or mechanically discharged therefrom, and subsequently an inner chamber 4 of the container is continuously vacuum-evacuated or maintained at a negative pressure while concurrently supplying the inner chamber 4 of the container with inert gas, preferably helium gas. The vacuum evacuation and/or the supply of inert gas or helium gas are/is carried out under a condition that the inert gas content or the helium gas content in the inner chamber of the container is in a range of 50 to 95 vol.%, particularly 55 to 90 vol.%, suitably 60 to 85 vol.%, and advantageously 65 to 85 vol.%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
