To provide a method for drying and treating garbage and a device for it in which odor leakage is prevented.
The garbage (2) is agitated and heated in a treatment tank (4). Steam (S) generated from the garbage by heating is condensed and a part of the steam is forcedly exhausted. The steam in the course of exhaust is guided to a high temperature heating atmosphere to be heated or burnt at a high temperature. The steam is heated or burnt at a high temperature so that odor is removed and the negative pressure of the treatment tank is obtained to prevent the odor leakage. A heating and drying treatment is applied to the combination of different kinds of garbage to form dried refuse. Only the dried refuse or the mixture of the dried refuse and wooden chips is fermented to produced the fertilizer of the dried garbage.
