Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form a colored layer having excellent chemical and mechanical endurance on a polycarbonate molded article by applying a coating liquid containing a specific silicon compound and silicon compound having an amino group to the polycarbonate molded article and then bringing the applied molded article into contact with a treating liquid of silicon dioxide containing a coloring agent.

CONSTITUTION: A coating liquid containing one kind of a silicon compound selected from a silicon compound expressed by the formula (R1 is ethyl, vinyl or ≤3C organic group having mercapto or hydroxyl group; R2 is one or plural kind of binding groups selected from alkoxy, alkoxyalkoxy, acetoxy and chloride; n is 0 or 1) and hydrolysate thereof and amino group-containing silicon compound at the ratio of the amino group-containing silicon compound of ≥0.2wt.% and total concentration of these silicon compounds of ≤5wt.% is applied to a polycarbonate molded article and the applied molded article is brought into contact with a treating agent in which dye, pigment, etc., is added to silicofluoric acid solution of silicon dioxide kept in supersaturated state to form the colored and coated layer having good adhesion and excellent endurance on the molded article.
