PURPOSE: To act a dyeing component only on the desired part so that the soft contact lens can be partly and securely dyed by penetrating or sticking a dyeing agent contg. a vat dye and reducing agent as a color forming component into the desired part of the soft contact lens, then insolubilizing the same by air oxidation.

CONSTITUTION: The dyeing agent contg. the vat dye and reducing agent is penetrated or stuck as the color forming component to the desired part of the soft contact lens in a wet state and is then insolubilized by air oxidation. The soft contact lens in the wet state and a screen provided with required characters, symbols, etc., are otherwise disposed in superposition in contact therewith; thereafter, the lens is dyed by using the dyeing agent contg. the vat dye and reducing agent as the color forming component, following which said agent is insolubilized by the air oxidation. The coloring component is thereby acted only on the desired part, by which the secure dye fixability to the soft contact lens is exhibited.
