Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form a blade edge having good cutting quality without the deformation of the cutting edger of cutlery formed by precipitating an aluminum oxide film on its surface by heating the cutlery in an oxidizing atmosphere.

CONSTITUTION: An alloy having a compsn. consisting, by weight %, of 25 to 35% Cr, 15 to 25% Ni, 4 to 8% Al, 0 to 0.5% Ti, 0.05 to 1.0% at least one element among Zr, Y, Hf, Ce, La, Nd and Gd and consisting of the balance Fe is molded to a cutlery shape. The alloy formed to the cutlery shape is heated to 800 to 1300°C in an oxidizing atmosphere, by which the aluminum oxide 2 is precipitated on the surface of the alloy. The cutlery is subjected to edging by grinding, etc., after the precipitation of the aluminum oxide 2.
