Title:
METHOD FOR ELECTROCHEMICALLY SYNTHESIZING SUPERCONDUCTING BORON COMPOUND MgB2
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3764115
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for electrochemically synthesizing a superconducting wire and a superconducting film of a boron compound MgB2 having 0 resistance under a superconducting transition temperature of about 39 K from a molten mix of magnesium chloride, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and magnesium boride at a temperature of ≥400≤.
SOLUTION: A mixed powder of magnesium chloride, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and magnesium boride is electrically heated at a temperature of ≤400°C in an inert atmosphere to be dried and then further electrically heated at a temperature of ≥400°C to be fused and chemically reacted for electrochemically synthesizing the superconducting MgB2.
