Abstract:
PURPOSE: To form an absorptive matrix having large opacity. CONSTITUTION: A CRT panel 12 is covered with a conductive layer 32, and is covered with a photoconductive layer 34 substantially uniformly charged. The selected region of the photoconductive layer 34 is exposed by chemical rays through a shadow mask to influence electric charges on the photoconductive layer 34. The unexposed region of the photoconductive layer 34 is developed by means of dry powdered absorptive screen material charged by frictional electricity. While the photoconductive layer 34 is reexposed and charges are kept on a region covered with absorptive screen material, the reexposure further discharges an exposed region to enhance voltage contrast between the exposed and unexposed regions of the photoconductive layer 34. By the second development of the unexposed region, absorptive material is attached to previously attached absorptive screen structure material to increase the opacity of a matrix 23.
