To provide a method for preparing an emulsion, high in stability, miscibility, and adhesiveness by causing emulsion polymerization to occur in water between 1-35 mass percent of N-vinyl acetamide and a compound having copolymerizable ethylenic double bonds, and to provide an emulsion prepared by this method.

This method comprises causing emulsion polymerization to occur in water between 1-35 mass percent of N-vinyl acetamide and 65 mass percent or more of a compound having ethylenic double bonds copolymerizable with the N-vinyl acetamide. Also provided is an emulsion manufactured by this method.
