Title:
METHOD FOR ENCODING AUDIO SIGNAL, AND METHOD FOR DECODING AUDIO SIGNAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3386064
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform encoding or the like so as to enable a user recording sound to perform recording by changing the recording time or the sound quality of an audio signal or to perform recording in an almost fixed recording time.
SOLUTION: Digital audio signals sampled at different sampling frequencies for every multichannels of respective audio title sets(ATS), and quantized by the number of different quantization bits, are encoded and recorded on an audio pack. Moreover, stereo signals of 2 channels reproduced by, for example, a CD player are allocated to (audio stream) AST#0, front signals of 3 channels among 6 channels reproduced with a DVD audio disk are allocated to AST#1, and rear signal of 2 channels and an LFE (low frequency effect) signal of channel are allocated to AST#2. The sampling frequencies and the number of quantization bits of stereo 2 channels of each ATS are recorded on an ATS attribute table, and the sampling frequencies and the number of quantization bits for each AST are recorded on an ATS-AST-attribute table, or decoding is performed on the basis of these pieces of information.
