Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an epoxidized polymer having a small residual amount of a catalytic component and excellent heat stability, and to provide a method for producing the epoxydized polymer safely, efficiently and industrially advantageously.
SOLUTION: In the method for epoxidized polymer production an olefinic double bond-containing polymer is epoxidized by using an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide in the presence of (1) a tungsten compound, (2) a phosphorus compound and (3) a phase transfer catalyst, the reaction mixture solution is washed with water, then brought into contact with a basic substance and the epoxidized polymer is obtained.
