Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for disposing organic waste by a methane fermentation process by which the decomposition rate of a cellulosic fiber is enhanced and the recovery amount of energy is increased and the waste volume is reduced and a device using this method.
SOLUTION: In the method for disposing of the organic waste 1 containing a high level of the cellulosic fiber content by a methane fermentation process, the solid matter and the liquid matter are separated from each other by mixing the organic waste 1 or a process liquid obtained by disposing of the organic waste by a methane fermentation process with water 9 containing a small amount of the other solid matter 8 and/or dehydrating 2 the mixture and the obtained solid matter 8 is ground in a grinding step. After that, the ground solid matter 10 is loaded into a methane fermentation step 3. The water containing a small amount of the other solid matter is preferably water almost free from a suspended substance, e.g. an activated sludge-treated water obtained through a water treating step in the second half operating stage of the methane fermentation process.
