PURPOSE: To provide a method for drying and recovering sludge where heat energy consumed to dry sludge is decreased and much time is not needed for drying treatment and to provide equipment for recovering using this method sludge particulate dried and granulated.

CONSTITUTION: Sludge S and air A are introduced into the 1st tank 1 while high speed spin is given them to generate sludge bubbles Sb. When the sludge bubbles Sb are introduced into the 2nd tank 8 from the upper part of the tank 1, drying hot air DH is added to the sludge bubbles and simultaneously high speed spin is given. Thereby the sludge bubbles Sb are scattered to dry and granulate the sludge and simultaneously the tank 8 is sucked and exhausted from the lower part to recover the dried and granulated sludge as powder.
