Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a process for supplying a polyphase electric motor in a starting period which is implemented at low cost and consumes only the energy needed for starting the motor. CONSTITUTION: This motor is fed with a current which is outputted to a bus J connected to the motor M and other electric energy consuming devices and crosses a transformer T and consumes operating power which is larger than or equal to 20% of obtainable electric power by itself. At least for the part of the starting period of the motor, the motor is applied with a reduced voltage supplied to intermediate taps (P1 , P2 , and P3 ) in the 2nd winding of the transformer T. Consequently, the is applicable as the power source for the drive motor of an industrially used air compressor.
