Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out resistance welding surely and efficiently without being affected with a resin film by bringing a roller electrode into contact with the superposed part of a steel tube on a titanium thin sheet as well as with a position slightly away from the superposed part and specifying the contact width and the pressing force of each electrode.
SOLUTION: A superposed part d is indirectly welded which is formed in the case of wrapping a titanium thin sheet 1 around a steel tube 11. In this welding equipment 16, a roller electrode 5a on the welding side is made 1-3mm in the contact width W1, with the line (face) of contact abutted and arranged on the outer surface of the superposed part d. A roller electrode 5b on the non-welding side is made 7-50mm in the contact width W2, and arranged serially in the axial direction of the steel tube 11, in the non-welding part separated by a fixed distance x from the roller electrode 5a on the welding side. In the indirect welding by energizing between both roller electrodes 5a, 5b, a pressing force is imparted at 100-300Kg to the titanium sheet 1 of the roller electrode 5a on the welding side, while a pressing force is controlled to be 400-1,000g for the roller electrode 5b on the non-welding side (roller electrode on grounding side). However, the condition is set as the ground electrode contact width W2/welding electrode contact width ≥3.
