To provide a method and equipment for polarizing a tone wheel which are characterized in that polarizing quality is not degraded, even though a fixing tool is a pawl type chucking means, by making use of an advantage of a rotary system.
In the method and equipment, a circular polarized member 4 is stuck to one side of a ferromagnetic reinforcing ring 3 consisting of 2 sections of a cylindrical portion 3a and a portion 3b perpendicular to it (3a); the reinforcing ring 3 is mounted to a fixing tool 2 consisting of a non-ferromagnetic pawl type chucking means owing to its cylinder part 3a; one side end 51 of a polarizing yoke 5 is approached to the surface of the above circular polarized member 4, and the other end 52 of the polarizing yoke is approached to the other portion of the reinforcing ring 3; an alternating closed circuit of a magnetic flux (a) is formed between the one side end 51, the circular polarized member 4, the ferromagnetic reinforcing ring 3, and the other end 52 of the polarizing yoke 5 while axially rotating the above fixing tool 2; and S pole and N pole are alternately polarized to the circular polarized member 4 along its peripheral direction.
