PURPOSE: To always estimate carbon concn. incorporated in a molten steel at the time of tapping the steel in high precision even in the case of developing the variation in an operational condition, etc., with the lapse of time in a converter operation.
CONSTITUTION: Three-layer neural network, in which the operational information t3-tn till tapping the steel from the converter and molten steel temp. t1 actually measured at the time of tapping the steel and the oxygen concn. t2 in the molten steel as the input and the carbon concn. in the molten steel at the time of tapping the steel as the output are used, is constructed. Further, by using the operational information till tapping the steel, molten steel temp. and oxygen concn. in the molten steel at the time of tapping the steel and the analized result of the carbon concn. in the molten steel at the time of tapping the steel in the actual operation, the learning of the neural network is executed to correct combining factors Wij, Wj, (i =1-n, j =1-m) between units constituting this neural network.
