Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of receivers, to miniaturize a device, to reduce costs, and to provide a method for estimating a radio arrival direction, in which the radio arrival direction is estimated by fewer calculation processings even in an unknown radio environment.
SOLUTION: In this method for estimating a radio arrival direction, arrival radio waves are received by plural antenna elements constituting an array antenna, and the arrival direction of the arriving radio waves is estimated from a received signal generated by inputting a high frequency signal obtained by this reception to one receiver by BS(beam space)/MUSIC(multiple signal classification). At first, first arrival direction estimation is conducted in a state in which plural antenna beam width is wide (S1-S3), and then second arrival direction estimation is conducted in a state in which plural antenna beam width is narrower in the estimated direction obtained by the first arrival direction estimation (S4-S6).
