Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable transmission capable of estimating an effective radius of rotation of a radius-of-rotation adjustment mechanism for a torque transmitted to an output shaft, and highly accurately controlling a transmission ratio and the torque transmitted to the output shaft.SOLUTION: A continuously variable transmission 1 includes a plurality of lever crank mechanisms 20. Each lever crank mechanism 20 includes: a radius-of-rotation adjustment mechanism 4 that is rotatable about an input shaft 20 and that can adjust a radius of rotation; and an oscillation link 18 pivotally supported by an output shaft 3. Among the lever crank mechanisms 20, the first lever crank mechanism 20 and the second lever crank mechanism 20 are always identical in the radius of rotation of the radius-of-rotation adjustment mechanism 4. A phase of the oscillation link 18 of the first lever crank mechanism 20 and that of the oscillation link 18 of the second lever crank mechanism 20 are detected, and the radius of rotation is estimated on the basis of the two phases.
