Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for evaluating accurately chapping of a lip, and for selecting thereby exactly a cosmetic or the like for taking a measure for the chapping of the lip suitable for a degree of the chapping.
SOLUTION: In this method for measuring the chapping of the lip, a surface cell of a horny layer in a lip surface is collected, and a surface state of the collected cell is observed from a body surface side and its reverse side to be evaluated. This invention provides also a selecting method for the cosmetic, using as an index the chapping of the lip measured by the evaluating method.
