Abstract:

To correctly analyze which factor causes a dark circle under an eye, the shape, or the variation of the quantity of blood flow, or the increase of the quantity of melanin.

The face of a user is illuminated with polarized light in one direction to form a surface reflection light image of the face. The face is also illuminated with polarized light from at least four directions around the face to form an internal reflection light image of the face. Then, by analyzing independent components of colors of the internal reflection light image, a distribution image of the quantity of melanin component and a distribution image of the quantity of hemoglobin component are formed. In this way, the factors of causing the dark circle are analyzed based on the surface reflection light image, the internal reflection light image, the distribution image of the quantity of melanin component, and the distribution image of the quantity of hemoglobin component.
