PURPOSE: To measure the concentration of powder slurry easily with high accu racy 'by suspending a weight into a slurry suspending a powder material and then determining the variation of powder concentration based on the temporal variation of the gravity of weight.
CONSTITUTION: A predetermined quantity of slurry is sampled into a measuring cylinder 2 and a weight 4, i.e. a stainless steel ball, is set stationarily therein. Variation of weight is then measured by means of an electronic balance 6 and the measurement is expressed in terms of variation in the slurry concentration by a data processor 7 thus evaluating the dispersiveness of powder material based on the behavior of powder material settling in the slurry. The behavior can be expressed as follows ; [slurry concentration]=ρp[1-A/(M-m)×100/(ρp-1 where, ρp: specific gravity of power material, A* volume of weight, M: true weight of weight, m: weight of the weight measured in the slurry. This evaluation method is effective for development of phosphor, and fluorescent plane of color CRT.
