To provide a more precise method of evaluating toners and to provide toners which are sorted by this evaluating method and can be easily pulverized, two-component type developers using such toners and a method of manufacturing the electrophotographic toners.
The method of evaluating the electrophotographic toners comprises melt kneading a toner composition consisting of at least a resin, pigments and charge control agent, then solidifying the kneaded matter to form chip-like materials, and observing the presence or absence of air bubbles above 5 μm, internal cracks, foreign matter above 5 μm and surface layer cracks, respectively by using IR rays. The toners sorted by the above evaluating method, the two-component type developers consisting of the toners and carriers of 30 to 500 μm grain size and the method of manufacturing the electrophotographic toners which is a method of manufacturing the electrophotographic toners comprising melt kneading the toner compositions consisting of at least the resin dispersed with the pigments and the charge control agent, then cooling the kneaded matter and pulverizing the solidified matter obtained by cooling the kneaded matter, in which the toners are use as the solidified matter.
