To provide a method for evaluating and testing resistance to adhesion to dust and slag, capable of quantitatively and simply evaluating the resistance of refractory materials to adhesion to the dust and slag.
By sandwiching the dust or slag between the refractory materials and heating them at a predetermined temperature, the dust or slag is made to adhere to the refractory materials to generate shearing stress in inclined adhering surfaces, and critical stress, when the adhering surfaces start to slide is measured. Therefore, it is possible to quantitatively and simply evaluate the resistance of the refractory materials to adhesion to the dust and slag and to provide silicon carbide refractory materials, to which the dust or slag hardly adhere.
