Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the method for evaluating the variations in the spacer space distributions of liquid crystal panels capable of making evaluation as to whether the variations in the gap below a permissible value arise if the variations in the space distributions of spacers increase to about what size.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal panels are modeled under specified conditions. The gaps of the representative points of respective segments 11 are calculated with the sizes, thicknesses and material properties of the modeled liquid crystals, the average particle sizes, grain size distribution functions, space distributions and material properties of the spacers and the negative pressures of the liquid crystal panels as respective input conditions and the number of the segments 11 by division of the liquid crystal panels as variable conditions. The number of the segments at which the variations in the gaps of the respective calculated segments 11 attain the preset permissible value or below is determined, by which the size of the segments of this time is determined as the evaluation value of the variations.
