Abstract:
To provide a method capable of exchanging only a protector needing to be exchanged, and to provide a heater for a cathode plate for suitably performing the method.
In the method where a coating member 5A stuck, by heating, to both the edge parts of a cathode plate 2 used in metal electrolytic refining is exchanged, among two or more coating members 5A, 5B, only the coating member 5A on the side to be exchanged is heated, the heated coating member 5A is peeled off from the edge part of the cathode plate 2, a new coating member 5A is applied to the edge part of the cathode plate 2 from which the coating member 5A has been peeled off, and the new coating member 5A is heated so as to be stuck to the edge part of the cathode plate 2.
