PURPOSE: To enable obtaining a high output level of a rolling line and reduced error of a wire rod by rolling a rolling stock with a specified small roll pass reduction in a after-rolling block.
CONSTITUTION: A wire rod 5, preliminarily rolled and having its crop cut off, gets into a finish rolling block 1 and is reduced so as not to generate twists through ten sets of stand cassettes 16, 17. Then, the wire rod 5 passes through a cooling pass 13, cooled in it, and then is guided to a soaking section 14. Regulation of cooling and temperature compensation is executed according to a wire rod alloy and required profile of each occasion. In succession, the wire rod 5 reaches an after-rolling block 6 and then is rolled by a standard table in a first vertical stand cassette 6'. After that, the wire rod 5 reaches a horizontal stand cassette 6", and further is rolled into an about 5-15% reduced diameter by an outlet stand having a roll pass reduction. Thereby, the purpose is attained by adjusting a caliber of the sleeve of an outlet stand 6".
