PURPOSE: To obtain a large amount of deformation with a small working force to eliminate the need for a large-sized equipment by inserting a tube expanding jig from the outlet side of an extruding machine into the inside of the tube under a high temperature state directly after extruding in the metallic extruded tube extruded from the extruding machine.
CONSTITUTION: A stem 2 is advanced to extrude the tube A to be extruded, after extruding by a prescribed length, then, a tube expanding jig 6 is advanced to the direction of a die 4 and its tip is inserted into the opening part of the tube end of the extruded tube. The tube expanding jig is advanced further and the extruded tube is deformed in a tapered state after the outer shape of the tube expanding head part 6a. The extruded tube keeps a high temperature state directly after it is extruded and is made easy to deform, therefore, the extruded tube can be deformed easily by a small advancing force given to the tube expanding jig. As a result, the manufacturing time of the formed part is reduced and the productivity can be improved.
