PURPOSE: To provide a method for file transfer between different kinds of computers.

CONSTITUTION: File transfer parts 14 and 24 and inter-program communication servers 15 and 25 which are controlled by communication control means 13 and 23, are added to a transmission-side computer 10 and a reception-side computer 20 which support standard communication protocol for a TCP/IP communication, etc., and progress monitor devices 16 and 26 are provided, and, data of the transmission-side computer 10 are transferred as a file to the reception- side communication control means 23 of the reception-side computer 20 through the parts 14 and 24 under the control of the inter-program communication servers 15 and 25 while being monitored by the transmission-side and reception- side progress monitor devices 16 and 26, thereby making the file transfer by batch processing between the different kinds of computers possible automatically without manual aid.
