Abstract:
To fill an ink holding member with ink more surely, easily and quickly.
Under a state where an ink tank 200 is held on a tank holding stage 101 and an ink holding member 201 subjected to hydrophilic treatment and contained in the ink tank 200 is opened to the atmosphere, a specified quantity of ink is injected from an ink supply mechanism 104 into the ink tank 200 and the tank holding stage 101 is reciprocated by driving a stage moving mechanism 102 to collide against stopper members 103 and 121 thus imparting a specified inertial force to the ink injected into the ink tank 200.
