To provide a method of filling and sealing a bag of a powdery and granular substance with which a sealed portion is well sealed and the powdery and granular substance is prevented from leaking when a hot plate is pressed against the sealed portion provided to cover a filling port by moving the substance to the vicinity of the filling port of a packaging bag.
The method of filling and sealing the powdery and granular substance by means of the packaging bag 10 having the filling port into which a supply nozzle of the powdery and granular substance P can be inserted and the heat-sealable sealed portion provided to cover the filling port includes: a filling step of inserting the supply nozzle of the substance into the filling port and filling the packaging bag with the substance; a bag striking step of striking the packaging bag to move the substance toward the filling port while the bag filled with the substance is being carried on a conveyer 101; and a sealing step of pressing the sealed portion provided to cover the filling port by the hot plate, thereby sticking the sealed portion to the packaging bag and sealing the filling port.
