PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structural element or particularly a workpiece or a semi-fabricated product for simply fully filling bubbles to mount on an automobile by improving a method for filling a void space of the workpiece or the product to simply fully fill the bubble sin the space.
SOLUTION: In order to charge a void space of a workpiece or a semi- fabricated product 16, a thermally foamable carbon powder 20 is introduced to a fixed position to the space 30 to be charged of the workpiece or the product 16, heated together with the workpiece or the product 16 so that the carbon powder 20 is swelled and fully filled in the space 30 as carbon foams 22. In this case, particles of the powder 20 in a contained state are smaller than those after foaming. The structural element to be mounted on a body of the automobile or particularly the workpiece or the product 16 has a closed void space 30, introduced into the space 30 at a fixed position of the thermally foamable powder 20. And to swell the powder 20 to form the foams 22, the powder 20 is heated together with the element.
