In a method for forging a taper ring material 1, a core metal 2 is inserted into a taper ring material 1 heated to a predetermined temperature, while the outer surface of the taper ring material 1 is depressed all over the length by an upper anvil 3 arranged above the taper ring material 1, the movement of the depression region is repeated by rotating the taper ring material 1 by the rotation of the core metal 2, the taper ring material 1 having a small diameter and a large diameter in the inner and outer diameter of both the ends in a center axis C1 direction is forged, and the taper ring material 1 is forged so that a state having an angle deviance α is allowed, the taper ring material 1 being inclined from the upper anvil and the center axis C0 of the core metal, when the center axis C1 of the taper ring material 1 is plan-viewed.
