A method for forming an artificial nail 1 comprises: a first step of molding the artificial nail 1 of a predetermined shape by hardening a mixed solution of synthetic resin and monomer; a second step of thermally softening at a predetermined temperature the artificial nail 1 molded in the first step; a third step of deforming the artificial nail 1, which has been softened in the second step, along the shape of the user's own nail N by bringing the artificial nail 1 into intimate contact with the surface of the user's own nail N; a fourth step of remolding the artificial nail 1, which has been deformed in the third step 3, by cooling and hardening thereof; and a fifth step of making the artificial nail 1, which has been remolded in the fourth step, adhere to the user's own nail N. Because the artificial nail 1 having been molded once is remolded so as to match the shape of the user's own nail N like this, an artificial nail 1 corresponding to the curved shape of each user's own nail is formed simply and reliably.
