PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forming method which easily forms a bearing boss in the center of a metal disk as a monolithic construction.
SOLUTION: A supporting die 16 is formed of a cup-shaped portion 12 pressed out at the center of a metallic disc 11, a machined protrusion 18 opened at the bottom of the cup-shaped portion 12 to be inserted thereinto, and a supporting plane 19 for supporting one side of the metallic disc 11. A pressing die 21 has a pressing surface 22 for pressing the bottom of the cup-shaped portion 12 in contact with it, and an engaging hole 23 engaged with the machined protrusion 18 protruded from an opening 15 of the bottom of the cup- shaped portion 12. The supporting die 16 and the pressing die 21 hold the metallic disc 11 tight to rotate for urging a boss outer surface 25 of a roller die 26 to a peripheral surface of the cup-shaped portion 12, for the purpose of shifting the roller die 26 to the rotation center of the metallic disc 11 and, at the same time, shifting the pressing die 21 to the side in the supporting die 16. As a result, the cup-shaped portion 12 is pressed by the boss inner surface 17 of the machined protrusion 18 provided on the supporting die 16, the pressing surface 22 of the pressing die 21, and the boss outer surface 25 of the roller die 26 to form a bearing boss 50.
